Does Karma exist? Well, who knows. All we know is that sometimes she comes back on wrongdoers, which is why she’s tagged ‘the queen of revenge.’ You don’t have to be a Buddhist to believe that what goes around comes around. Instant justice is everyone’s dream, although it may not be so sweet when you are on the receiving end. However, Karma doesn’t necessarily have to punish evil deeds, and it may reward good deeds. But we love it better when it works on the bad guys. Here are ten interesting times when Karma served real justice instantly.
1 The Gasoline Thief That Siphoned Poop
The cost of gas is quite high all over the world, which is why gas siphoning is quite a common practice all around the world. In January 2016, a group of oil thieves spotted an easy catch when they noticed a tourist bus unguarded in Laverton West Australia. The thieves, however, forgot that tourist buses have a fuel tank and a sewage tank somewhere close by. After opening the wrong cap in the dark, they sucked their hose into the wrong container and abandoned their mission immediately after noticing the unpleasant smell or instead taste in their mouths. The police were pleased about the failed robbery but not lenient either. The police commander promised to track them down and bring them to “justice.”
2 The Robber That Shot Himself in the Penis
Hot dog stands are also one of the easiest targets for robbers except, in this case, the hot dogs had some revenge. Terrion Pouncy, a year-old robber from Chicago, descended on a hot dog stand on Maxwell Street Express in November 2017. He held a gun to the two employees at the counter ordering them to hand over their wallets, phones and all the cash from the cash register. Pouncy however scared one of the employees who was carrying a jar of grease soo much that she dropped the pot on the money. The cash got scattered on the floor. As Pouncy bent to pick the money, his .38 pistol shifted on its buckle firing into his pants. He managed to run across the street and call an ambulance, but the police used his bloody underwear to identify him as the thief. Since he was in the hospital, he also missed his bail hearing, causing the judge to deny him bail. All his loots were also recovered, and he was charged with two accounts of robbery.
3 The Rhino Poacher That Was Killed by Elephants & Eaten by Lions
Let’s face it; Rhino poachers are not kind. They’ve almost wiped out a species of these precious beasts off the face of the earth and food for lions is also very scarce. So our poor man here probably did the world a favor. A group of poachers entered Kruger National Park in South Africa in April 2019 to kill rhinos, but a herd of elephants got in their way killing one of the men. The escaping poachers notified the man’s family about his fate. The family reported the rangers, but they couldn’t locate the man’s body for several days. They later found his skill and other pieces of bone a few days later confirming that his body had been torn apart by the lions. The Rangers now had to do the sad task of giving condolences to the man’s family.
4 The Robber Who ‘Escaped’ Straight Into the Tiger’s Den
Back to South Africa again and this time around, it was not a poacher but a zoo robber that got on the wrong side of Karma. The man robbed a couple visiting Bloemfontein zoo at knifepoint but was seen by the park guards in the process prompting a chase. The man was cornered, forcing him to jump into the next cage which was unfortunately occupied by a Bengal Tiger. Now the security officers were not obligated to kill the tiger to save him, so they didn’t. They didn’t even notice the man in the cage until the following day when visitors at the zoo saw a dead body in the tiger’s cage. The tiger had been fed the day before, so it didn’t eat the man’s body, but in Karma’s way, justice was served. Quite cruel, though!
5 The Drunk Driver That Ran Himself Over
Typically, drunk drivers run into oncoming vehicles, knock pedestrians, or simply run into roadside barriers. Either way, drunk drivers are a significant cause of road carnage, but Karma wasn’t ready for one here. In March 2018, The police flagged down a drunk driver in Fairfax County Virginia, but the driver wasn’t so willing to cooperate, so he sped off. As the police closed in, the driver decided to jump off and run on foot. But he failed to engage parking on his car so as he jumped off. The vehicle continued moving slightly, knocking him down in the process. The whole process that was captured on the dashcam ended with the driver getting arrested. He was later arrayed in court for drunk driving, driving with an expired license and possession of marijuana.
6 The Abusive Fan That Got Hit by the Hockey Karma
It’s okay to express your feelings at a hockey game. But when someone is injured, sympathy is a great thing to show even if they are playing for the opposing side. In 2018, the Canadian Ice hockey star Steve Sullivan got injured while playing in Denver when a fan on the stand heckled him pointing at his nose injury. Steve managed to continue playing and even score two times against the abusive fan’s team. In a Karma turnaround situation, however, someone hit the ball over the glass. The ball hit the lourowdy fan at the same spot on the head, giving him a similar injury like the one Steve had. The fan got heckled by many people on the stand, including his girlfriend.
7 The Suicide Bomber Who Blew Herself Up With a Happy New Year Message
Now, this particular New Year message brought the world a Happy New Year celebration by blowing up the terrorist. The terrorist whose name the authorities were not willing to reveal was set to blow herself up in a few hours during the new year celebration. She was part of a team which helped her prepare a suicide vest and set it to get triggered via a text message. The terrorists, however, never accounted for unannounced text messages, like the one from the operator wishing her a happy new year. A few hours before the detonation time, the operator sent in the sweet message sending the terrorist to kingdom come. She was the only victim of the self-inflicted attack as her teammates took off when she exploded.
8 The Hit & Run Driver That Left Plates Behind
Now, when you run the stop sign, hit someone and don’t intend to pay for your mistake, you better step out to check if all the pieces of your bumper are intact. In May 2012, a couple ran a stop sign at a junction and ran into a man on a bike. They were, however, too heartless to stop and help the man whose leg and was broken and was bleeding. The bike’s chain had however clipped itself onto the car’s plate pulling it off the car. The couple never noticed they had left their plates behind till the cops caught up with them. They were forced to pay 11 times the man’s total medical expenses for their inhuman behavior.
9 The Republican Rain Karma
Now, If you believe in Karma or any other supreme being for that matter, this will sound more like a clash of the gods. Back when Senator Obama had just received the Democratic party nominations, he was set to deliver an acceptance speech, but Republicans weren’t too happy. Evangelical preachers however led by Stewart Shepperd then supporting John McCain prayed for rain to fall and interrupt the event of Obama’s acceptance speech. Funny enough, the event was a success, and Senator Obama went on to become president. However, the Republicans got a taste of God’s wrath in their republican nominations in St. Paul Minnesota as hurricane Gustav struck rendering the event impossible. It turns out Karma doesn’t enjoy preachers who pray for harm on others.
10 The Thief That Ended Up in the Belly of an Alligator
Mathew Riggins and his unknown accomplice were seen running behind houses in Brevard County, Chicago on November 2015. When the Sheriff and his deputies started a search with dogs and a helicopter, he ran and hid in a lake to avoid detection. That was a massive mistake because Chicago lakes are the home of the largest alligators in America. His family reported him missing when he did not come back home a few days later. Unknown to them, as Mathew hid in the lake, an 11ft alligator attacked him and ate half his body. It kept guard of the other half, which was discovered ten days later by the police.
